ABOUT ME
Birth, I suppose, is as good a place to begin as any - the study of birthdays is a billion-dollar industry, after all. I was born a Virgo, an allusion to eternal youth and optimism - an event I once assumed my mother would never forget.
My own memories (and some may even be true:) of my birthplace, a small Acadian village called Cheticamp in the Cape Breton Highlands of Nova Scotia, Canada, are featured in my first novel, Garden of the Gods, nominated in the best first novel category of the Atlantic Fiction Awards.
I'm also the host and co-founder of the Halifax Wired Monks, a writers' critique group.
