Greetings All,
Here's hoping you've all been enjoying a truly wonderful summer, reading great books, reconnecting with nature, family, old friends, and discovering new creative passions (or rediscovering old ones)...
Everyone can use a recharge. Or, in my case, a crazy-busy summer that may have drained my batteries altogether & will hopefully cruise into reset during one of my favourite months of the year, incidentally my birth month: SEPTEMBER!
How I imagine an idyllic summer day:

The reality of my summer:
Lots of this
And too much this:
And yep, way to much of this:
No, I'm not referring to the kayaking...love, love kayaking.
Fortunately, interspersed with the awesome visits & overindulging...
Fortunately, interspersed with the awesome visits & overindulging...
...there were days of this:
And early morning moments of sitting back with a coffee & book & enjoying this:
Did I blog? No.
Did I write? Hardly at all.

Oh, I know what THEY say:
In order to be a real writer, you should practice writing every day.
Well, if it's true, I shall continue being a fake writer because fall & winter are the times I love to write. Summers are for reading, editing, the occasional 'writerly' business & plain REJOICING IN THE GLORY OF SUMMER!!!
Speaking of writing:
I won an editorial critique on Twitter this summer. Yayyy!!!
My two favourite sentences in the critique:
"The family histories, which span generations, have an inherently epic feel reminiscent of 100 YEARS OF SOLITUDE."
"I’m certain if and when you sell it, there will be a readership just clamoring to get their hands on it!"
Talk about resetting my batteries.
Now, that fall's creeping into the air, it's time to get down to writerly business.
Why not start with an inspiring book launch?

Join Elizabeth Pierce as she launches her book You Can Too! this Thursday at 7 pm. The Wired Monks (our writers' group) will be there in full force to celebrate her latest book!
Here's to reconnecting with our pens, digging around with them (as Seamus did) and to many more 'Monkey' publications to come!
Cheers!
